Retrospective

Back to the former editions

Since 2010, the year of the first Social Good Day in France, HelloAsso and its friends have been bringing together the digital and non-profit ecosystems every year to encourage initiatives that place citizen innovation at the heart of their work.

Over the years, more and more of them are getting involved, and a week full of events has been dedicated to them since 2012: Social Good Week has just been launched.

The previous year, 4000 participants took part in the sixty or so events on the programme for this edition. After a launch at the Elysée in 2014 and at the Centre Pompidou in 2015, Station F, the largest start-up campus in the world, is hosting the launch of the 2018 edition.

2018: connecting the world is not enough

For its seventh edition, Social Good Week focused on ways to improve the Internet through a hundred events.

In order to give an audible voice to the associations, entrepreneurs and collectives carrying this vision of a united and committed web, alternative digital workshops were organised in some fifteen cities in France.

The place of women in digital technology was also highlighted, notably by the presence of Mitchell Baker, President of the Mozilla Foundation, and Mounir Mahjoubi, Secretary of State for Digital Technology.

The issue of web use by homeless people and teenagers was also at the heart of a week-long course on digital creation, in Paris and Marseille respectively.

2016: making society

The milestone of 100 events bringing the social and solidarity web to the general public was reached in 2016! Launched at the end of November at the Liberté Living Lab, Social Good Week 2016 was a precursor to the International Open Government Partnership Summit which brought together hundreds of heads of state and government in Paris.

Nearly one hundred events were open to the general public in 25 cities in France.

2015: for a connected, united and collaborative humanity

After a launch at the Centre Pompidou, a large number of social tech players and public authorities met for six days. The role played by new technologies in social change was dissected, analysed and put to the test with the aim of building an ever more inclusive web.

This edition was marked by the plurality of the forms of events organised. Between a webcast specially dedicated to Social Good Week and the actors of change, organised by Le First; a hackathon on the climate (Climate Change Challenge, C3) organised by etalab, or a digital evening organised in Paris around the Telethon, there was no lack of ideas!

2014: social good week at the Elysée

More than 25 events were held throughout France to promote and develop hundreds of projects. At the opening of the Social Good Week, the Minister of Youth, Patrick Kanner, and members of HelloAsso presented all the events of this edition.

A session was held at the Elysée Palace on 4 December with François Hollande. This was an opportunity for the President of the Republic to highlight and support the projects of 15 winners in the framework of La France s'engage.

2013: from one day to one week

Two years after the first Social Good Day, more than 25 events took place all over France to promote hundreds of projects during one week.

2010-2011 : the social good day

In 2010 and 2011, Social Good Day was launched under the impetus of MailForGood (formerly HelloAsso). Thanks to a small but committed community, a whole day was dedicated to raising awareness of the benefits of digital technology to address major social issues.
